Frequently Asked Questions.
Twelve honest answers about lessons, JPJ tests, packages and policies. If yours is not here, call +60 3-5882 4760 — the office picks up between 8am and 8pm, Monday to Saturday.
How long does the full Class D Car program take from start to finish?
Most learners complete the Full Drive Pack within 8–10 weeks attending two lessons per week. We have completed it in five weeks for visiting students and stretched it over six months for shift workers. The schedule bends to your calendar.
Do I have to attend KPP theory in person, or can I do it online?
Both. Our Setia Walk studio runs classroom batches every Saturday 9am to 3pm. We also run a self-paced bilingual mobile portal with 1,200+ practice questions for working adults. Many candidates complete the theory online in a week, then book a Saturday for the JPJ KPP01 test.
Can I bring my own car for practical lessons?
For the licensing pathway the JPJ examiner requires a school-registered dual-control vehicle. However, for the Confidence Top-Up program we can fit a temporary passenger-side brake to your own car for an additional RM 60 per hour, so you build muscle memory on the vehicle you actually drive home.
How does foreign licence conversion work?
If your home country has a Mutual Recognition Agreement with Malaysia (Singapore, UK, Australia, Japan, Korea, Germany, France, the Netherlands and most ASEAN nations), you can convert directly. We handle the JPJ application, sworn translation, photo, eye test and the PUSPAKOM verification. Turnaround is typically 9–14 working days.
What happens if I fail the JPJ test?
First, we do not book your test until you can pass our internal rehearsal — so the surprise is rare. If it does happen, the Full Drive Pack includes one complimentary re-test rehearsal and we pass the JPJ re-booking fee through at cost (currently RM 50 for cars, RM 30 for bikes). Our first-attempt pass rate sits at 91%.
Do you teach women-only classes?
Yes. Three of our nine instructors are women, and we run optional women-only Sunday-morning batches for both KPP theory and refresher programs — no surcharge. Just request it when you call.
How quickly can I start lessons after enquiring?
Within 5 working days for our 14 standard coverage suburbs. KPP theory enrolment is instant via our mobile portal, so you can start studying the same day you sign up.
Are your instructors JPJ-certified?
All nine of our instructors hold valid Sijil Jurulatih JPJ certifications, refreshed every two years. Our institute MOT code is KL/24/B6 and our PUSPAKOM vehicle inspection records are available on request.
Do you offer corporate or fleet driver training?
Yes. We deliver bespoke defensive-driving programs for logistics companies and ride-hailing fleets, typically a 2-day curriculum covering hazard perception, fatigue management and post-incident review. Quote on request.
What car will I learn in?
Our fleet is exclusively Perodua Bezza and Proton Saga models from 2022 onwards, with dual-control pedals and reverse cameras. Vehicles are serviced every fortnight at a single trusted workshop and PUSPAKOM-certified every six months.
Do you teach automatic or manual transmission?
Both. Our Class D programs default to manual transmission because the Malaysian licence is restriction-free that way, but if you intend to drive only automatics we can run the program on our automatic Bezza fleet (no price difference). We will discuss the right choice during your free consultation.
What is your refund policy?
If you complete fewer than four lessons and decide we are not the right fit, you receive an 80% refund of the unused balance within seven working days. Full details are on our refund policy page.
